Summary : NASA is part of the government and they spend a lot of money on trying to discover new areas of existence beyond the planet earth. I think its very helpful to do that because we also see new ways of solving problems . They also prepare for the future and they have studied more places like the moon and mars by actually going there. We are going to run out of resources for solving problems on this planet one day and we will need to use our knowledge and resources from Space.

Unfortunately, many people don’t see the benefit in funding NASA. Like Texas Republican Senator Ted Cruz, who just so happens to be the head of the Senate committee overseeing NASA’s funding. In recent hearings about increasing NASA’s budget, Cruz said “In my judgment this does not represent a fair or appropriate allocation of resources, that it is shifting resources away from the core functions of NASA to other functions.”

But, as NASA Administrator Charles Bolden pointed out to Cruz, “Our core mission from the very beginning has been to investigate, explore space and the Earth environment, and to help us make this place a better place.”

Problem : Some people think its a waste of money. I think its not a waste money its very helpful and we spend a lot of money on the military in response to problems on earth. NASA funding is money spent to help prevent problems on earth.  When human beings see their planet from space they break down the borders that divide us on earth and work together for a better future.

Solution/opinion: They should keep doing what there doing and more people need to see the value of NASA funding.
