Former Utah Police Sargent, Ron Stallworth tells his story about when he went undercover in 1979 as a member of the Ku Klux Klan for his investigation. He and another Police officer would switch off playing the same person. The Klan never knew they were dealing with two different people. After a while of working with the Klan they trusted him with the crimes they had planned. With the information given to him he was able to stop the burning of a cross three times. Over nine months of being a member of the KKK, the group took a vote and made Ron the new leader of the KKK chapter because he was a loyal and dedicated Klansman.
In 1979 the KKK was an ongoing issue for the U.S. Government because of it’s illegal acts which promoted racism between blacks and whites. This was a huge investigation in Stallworth’s career. Though it has not been classified as a terrorist organization, the KKK preformed terrorist acts in our own country.
