People have so many things to do before Christmas day . It is too easy to forget what it is all about. They will get ready by shopping. They get presents for family, friends , etc. Many will rush to buy online in time for packages to be delivered by December 25th. There are parties to plan and attend but some just struggle to keep good food on the table for their families. Sometimes this time of year can be very stressful.
Christmas is celebrated to remember the birth of Jesus Christ over 2,000 years ago in Bethlehem. Christmas means different things to different people but if you are Christian it means that God becomes human and is with us. Christmas has many definitions by many things we do and see at this time.
As Christmas comes we will see so many different colors.
There are several colors which are traditionally associated with Christmas. It is common to use Red, Green and Gold. Why do we have them and what do the colors represent? Well Evergreen plants, like Holly, Ivy and Mistletoe have been used for thousands of years to decorate and brighten up buildings during the long dark winter. Red is also the color of Holly berries, which is said to represent the blood of Jesus when he died on the cross. Gold is the color of the Sun and light – both very important in the dark winter. And both red and gold are the colors of fire that you need to keep you warm. White is often associated with purity and peace in western cultures. The snow of winter is also very white! The color blue is often associated with Mary, the mother of Jesus. Blue can also represent the color of the sky and heaven. That’s why we always use the color red, white, blue, and gold.
The thing that I like about Christmas is when I make the Christmas tree. It has so many decorations onto the tree. It is so much fun with family. I love giving presents to my family, playing, laughing, eating foods, so many things about celebrating Christmas create good memories for us. Christmas is one of my favorite holiday because I can have more time with my family and create new memories that keep me smiling when life gets hard.
