Friday September 7th, it was announced that star guard Donovan Mitchell was traded from Utah Jazz to the Cleveland Cavaliers. In the trade the Utah Jazz gave up the star player for pieces like: Lauri Markkanen, Ochair Agbaji, and Colin sexton, as well as a few first round picks. With this trade, Utah loses the points and leadership number 45 brings, but gains a more diverse group of young guys who can blend into the team well. Cleveland gains another all star to pair with the likes of Kevin Love, and 17.4 ppg scorer Kevin Garland for a big three who can lead an offense. With this trade, it takes Cleveland from last years bottom seed of the playoffs to a potential eastern conference final contender, which should keep Cleveland and basketball fans excited going into the 2022-2023.
