By paying attention, many could observe a lot from this photo. I observed that during the 1920s, alot of African Americans were treated very brutally and deficiently. They were mostly mistreated by a secretive hate group called the Klu Klux Klan. This image shows the southern white farmer in partnership with a masked Klansman as they suppress the rights and the lives of a Southern black share cropping family. The K.K.K. was more brutal than slavery itself.

This vicious hate group was founded in 1865 in Pulaski, Tennessee. Created by six amazingly educated confederates to abuse and attack black citizens with their loyal leagues of whites. The Klan created many terrors which included lynching, murdering, and setting fire to buildings owned or used by many African Americans. Members wore white robes with hoodies that would cover their identities from society. The result of their many horrible activities was that African Americans refused to register to vote and stayed far away from white areas. As Southern society moved forward after Reconstruction, the Ku Klux Klan had branches in nearly every Southern state. Because of the growth of violent activities and the widespread nature of the K.K.K., African Americans who were able to escape from the south escaped as soon as they could. this became known as the Great Migration of blacks to the North.
It took 100 years to stop the lynching and violent acts of the klan but the klan still exists today because it is protected by the 1st amendment. What do you think about this?
Even though the Klan still exists today because they say its protected by the 1st amendment it still stands for the racism in America that casts a long shadow on our present social circumstances.
