I am 20 years old; born in the third Spring season since the al Qaeda attack on America. I was born in Kabul, the capitol of Afghanistan.
Kabul is the biggest city of Afghanistan. People say Kabul is the heart of Afghanistan much like they could say that New York City is the open hands of liberty to immigrants in America . Afghanistan is a mountainous and landlocked nation located in central Asia. It is located in the Northern Hemisphere about 7,000 miles east of Washington DC.
My life has shown me that human beings desire cooperation just as we remain caught in competition. We have a human nature for creativity and love just as it is for destruction and hatred. We are capable of establishing peace among communities just as we are capable of tribal violence. My people are a peaceful, loving and strong people. We are one culture among many in Afghanistan.
I believe that it is education that sets our human nature free. Not all groups are educated. This is true everywhere. Today I have this freedom of education only because I have been pulled by opportunity in the United States just as I was pushed by oppression in m y homeland.
Two years ago Tuesday, Taliban fighters poured into Afghanistan’s capital and the army melted away and President Ashraf Ghani fled for his life. The country that the U.S. and NATO spent nearly 20 years fighting to build was suddenly controlled again by the same Taliban whom the U.S. deposed after 9/11.Taliban restriction on women and girls in Afghanistan and only males can go out . Last week, the Taliban in Afghanistan published outrageous new laws on “vice and virtue” that require women to completely cover their bodies, including their faces, in public at all times.
