Mountain View staff and team held a mentor social that represents March Madness and the basketball season. Students and teachers came together to play a game of basketball, knock-out and other basketball activities in the gym.
Friday March 15th was a good day at Mt. View
We gathered for our monthly mentor social to witness the annual March Madness Basketball Knockout game with students and staff.
At least 30 students and staff lined up to take their best shot.
Mr. Jones and Mr. Hardy kept their eyes on the ball as they refereed the event.
After two rounds of practice we were ready to begin. Mr. Thompson and Ms. Angela moved to the music as they cranked up the jock jams beat. The gym was lined with spectators as the long line of participants bounced with excitement. Anticipation and hope was in the air. The winner would walk away with a new basketball that had a freshly painted logo of the Mt. View Timberwolf and Family Love Respect.
Leo Moreno was the winner . This week we asked him, how he feels about his winning experience in the March Madness knockout game?
“I feel pretty confident, it was a big deal for me because I have never won an award.” As Leo reflected further he gave the advice to stay in the game with each other. “No matter what happens, keep going through, finish strong even though things may happen, you gotta finish till the end.” It was clear that everyone who played the game enjoyed the game and that enjoyment was shared by all those who watched and cheered.
Mr. Jones and Mr. Hardy served as coaches and referees during the game.
“I loved how teachers and students played together and everyone had so much fun.” Mr. Jones
