The U.S. government wants to give all thanks to Secretary of State John Kerry who has established good diplomatic ties with Iran as he worked hard to get a deal on nuclear restrictions. He got 10 U.S sailor’s home safely and avoided what could have been a more serious crisis. Kerry said that “ all indications suggest or tell us that our sailors were well taken care of, provided with blankets and food and assisted with their return to the fleet earlier today.” The sailors were released on Wednesday to the American naval fleet in the Persian Gulf.

Kerry said that there was a chance things wouldn’t have gone so smoothly before the United States started talking with Iran in a diplomatic way about their nuclear program. He also said that this wouldn’t have gone so smoothly 3 or 4 years ago.
I think its great that today we are able to peacefully handle the situation without any problems. I also think its great how John Kerry handled the problem. Many people are very sketched out about the timing of the capture though. The sailors were captured just days before the long negotiated Nuclear deal is expected to go into force.
There was a video taken of the sailors being captured which people believe to be a staged video, but others seem to think the video is authentic. The sailor was apologizing out of context and looked as if he was just doing anything to protect his fellow sailors.
Diplomacy means: the conduct by government officials of negotiations and other relations between nations.
Propaganda:information, ideas, or rumors deliberately spread widely to help or harm a person, group, movement, institution, nation, etc.
This video can either be real or fake set up by Iran to use as an act of propaganda for their people. But all that matters to the U.S. is that our sailors are home safe and we avoided conflict with Iran. Iran might have got something more out of the capture of our sailors but I’m glad that the we avoided conflict and that our sailors are now safe!

The fact that these sailors got home safe is calming. Having family members in the military, it is a constant worry whether they are safe or not. If this had taken a turn for the worst and happened to a fellow American, let alone a loved one, the tragedy would strike deep.
