The LGBT community faces many problems in the United States and around other parts of the world. Mostly do to the lack of diversity sensitivity and understanding.

I think we need to move forward as a society. This country is supposed to stand for freedom and in many cases it is the most free country in the world. However some citizens seem to always enjoy more freedom than others. its not true that citizens are free here. The U.S focuses too much on petty distractions and exerts to much energy to promote hatred and discrimination against the things that are not understood.
The government should work to protect minorities and that includes members of the LGBT community. Refocus its energy to more dire world issues like terrorism and war. Allowing people to live their lives the way they wish to seems like a simple resolution to an unnecessary problem.
