It’s been approximately 10 years since Natalee Holloway disappeared while on her graduation trip in Aruba. The 19 year old was seen leaving a bar with her 2 brothers and a “friend” Joran Van der Sloot. The 2 brothers claim they dropped off Sloot and Natalee at a hotel but later disappeared. Joran Van der Sloot says he was with Holloway that night, but left her on the beach, alone.
Now 10 years later, and after Holloway’s official death declaration in 2012; a Dutch citizen says he knows where to find her body. Jurrien de Jong says he believes he saw Natalee Holloway shortly before she died. De Jong De Jong says he was near Marriott’s Aruba Surf Club, at the time under construction, on the night of May 30, 2005, when he saw a young man chase a young woman through the construction site. First he thought the two were just messing, it wasn’t long till the man reappeared, carrying the woman in his arms. He says he body appeared to be limp and later says he saw a man put a woman’s body in foundation of construction site in Aruba. Aruban officials are dismissing him and the Marriott chain is claimed no construction was underway at the time.
“… He pulled (the woman) by the ankles inside the crawl space, stayed inside for a minute and then came out and closed the gap,” de Jong said.”
De Jong has tried to convince prosecutors and Holloway’s family that he isn’t lying and knows where to find her body but he’s been shot down every time. Although Mr. Holloway claims he remembers when he visited Aruba on June 1st, 2005.
“I can tell you for a fact. I was there on June 1, and there was definitely construction in that area,” he says.
Authorites are refusing to undergo drilling around the foundation where the body can supposedly be found. De Jong believes it’s just an excuse so the image of Aruba being “a happy island” won’t be damaged.
Personally I think they should look harder; do the drilling if they have to. Maybe it’ll be a waste of time but it’s worth a shot. It could perhaps fill in the empty hole that the Holloway’s have in their hearts. Van der Sloot has never been charged for the disappearance of Natalee Holloway but hopefully in the long run he will be. Considering he once pleaded guilty for the murder of Stephany Flores (5 years after the disappearance of Natalee) in Peru. I believe he is also responsible for the disappearance of Natalee.
