Metro Saved by the Stanley Cup?
A big issue for DC public transportation lately has been who will pay for during the NHL playoffs and Stanley cup finals. Many people had been concerned about how they will get home after the game. The D.C. metro stops running trains at 11:30PM weekday nights but XFinity corporation has come through with the $100,000 to keep trains running until 1:00AM to avoid what would have been a really a big problem. There was even talk about maybe the Washington Capitals stepping up and paying, or possibly borrowing money from a foreign country. This just goes to show how complicated the transportation economy can be in our DMV region.
