Measles – also called rubella , is a highly contagious respiratory infection that’s caused by a virus. It causes a total-body skin rash and flu-like symptoms, including a fever, cough, and runny nose.
Some parents in America didn’t want to get the vaccination for their children because they were scared of the health effects and they thought they had the choice as parents to not get them vaccinated. So far eight people were infected with this disease including six infants as of Monday February 09, 2015 . Earlier Monday the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said 121 cases of measles have been reported in the U.S. this year. Most were linked to Disneyland as a site of origin.
In this article the core democratic values that were used were truth because people need to be educated on these kinds of outbreaks and how they can prevent it. The core value of life because these families are putting other children at risk when they do not follow up on shots. Some children are not able to get shots and those who can should in order to protect themselves and others from risk.

I am terrified that the measles will find its way around Northern Virginia. That would make the second viral disease to spread in this district within the past 6 monts, the other being Ebola.

Some parents don’t just go against vaccination because they “didn’t want to get the vaccination for their children because they were scared of the health effects” but also because some of them might be conspiracy theorists. with that being said more and more vaccinations should be listed as a requirement for children’s admission to school every year. parents like this are irresponsible because they put their children’s health and safety in danger.

I agree with your opinion that parents need to follow-up on shots because we don’t want to risk this outbreak from spreading even further than it already is. And I also agree that we should be more educated on Measles in order so we can take the necessary precautions to prevent ourselves from catching it.
