The man to the right is Pol Pot, he and his communist Khmer Rouge movement led Cambodia from 1975 to 1979. During that time, about 1.5 million Cambodians out of a total population of 7 to 8 million died of starvation, execution, disease or overwork. That’s crazy to me because most countries go to war with other countries, not within their country fighting with each other.
On April 17, 1975, the Khmer Rouge seized power in Phnom Penh. In the three years, eight months, and twenty days of their government, they forced cambodian people to leave the cities and move to the countryside. China helped fund the Khmer Rouge but its not surprising because China is a communist country too, but there are allegations that the US even helped fund the Khmer Rouge. If that is true I wouldn’t doubt it, because why wouldn’t they? If they help fund a country that’s killing their own people, that would work out in favor of the US in case they went to war with cambodia, or even if they wanted to take control of the their land. To the US government it was just more communists being killed and they were tired of fighting communists in Southeast Asia because of the failure of Vietnam.
The Khmer Rouge attempted to socially and politically engineer a peasant society. They took particular aim at intellectuals, city residents, ethnic Vietnamese, civil servants and religious leaders. The invading Vietnamese army fought and stopped the Khmer Rouge in 1979. Despite years of guerrilla warfare, they never took power again.
Pol Pot died in 1998 without ever being brought to justice. Because of all of this the Geneva Convention was brought to surface. The Geneva Conventions is a body of Public International Law, whose purpose is to provide minimum protections, standards of humane treatment, and fundamental guarantees of respect to individuals who become victims of armed conflicts. The Geneva Convention was a series of treaties, about the treatment of civilians, prisoners of war and soldiers who are rendered or incapable of fighting.
Cambodian genocide occurred just 35-40 years after people in the west witnessed the rise of Hitler and said never again! So why did it happen again? The west was tired of fighting in southeast asia because of the long suffering of the Vietnam War. Maybe they were tired of paying attention and did not want to admit that their fight against dictatorship was a failure.
Adolf Hitler was the leader of Nazi Germany from 1934 to 1945. He is known to us as a mad man, mass murderer, evil person but that’s not the truth. Some people may think that that’s crazy because that’s not what they were taught, or because that’s not what is in history books. But if I feel like if you control literature you can control the way people think, believe, or the way we view things. I feel like we have one of the worst generations mentally, but I also feel like we are the smartest generations too. We have more opportunities and access to look into things and self educate ourselves on certain things instead believing everything you hear or see.
This is a swastika and whenever we see this our first thought is is Nazi Germany, Adolf Hitler, and racism but that’s not what it means at all. Have you ever taken your time for further self education outside because didn’t look or feel right to you? We have the technology for now and can do that but we misuse, and do ignorant things. While your’re doing the people who are telling us these lies are flying under the radar and proceeding on with their agenda.
The swastika was around hundreds and thousands of years before Adolf Hitler and The holocaust ever happened. The swastika is an ancient symbol its in some caves in Africa, ancient basket weavings. The swastikas literal meaning is “It is good”. The symbol is also used in different religions like Buddhism and Hinduism to represent other positive things like Life, sun, power, strength, & luck. But years they stole the symbol misinterpreted to make people believe it has different meaning. They made the symbol to be feared and abused as a tool of hate, and try to make us feel as if Hitler was a bad man.
There is a comparison that can be made of Adolf Hitler and Pol Pot. In both the Holocaust and the genocide in Cambodia, there were many killed in similar ways. Hitler wanted to kill the Jews, and Pol Po wanted to kill a certain part of the Cambodian population, especially the educated people. Why did he want to kill Cambodians, especially the educated ones? I don’t know. I feel he wanted to kill the educated ones more, because Pol Pot was very smart well educated man. He was a communist that wanted absolute power, and wanted the educated people killed so there would be nobody in the way to speak out against him, as he went on with his agenda. Hitler on the other hand mass murdered Jews, we’re taught because he was racist- but no. Hitler got tired of Jews because many successful people in banking and education were Jewish. He resented them when it came to money, because the Jews was Germany’s source of money. After awhile Germany had a great depression within its economy. After a while Hitler basically said screw the jews, cut them off and germany started printing their own money, and hitler brought his company back from that move. So i feel the reason why Hitler went on to kill jes after germany bounced back was because he wanted jewish bankers to pay for how they acted towards germans. So instead of him just going after jewish bankers he went after all jews. I think it was really a reaction because the jews actions. Do i think he went to far?.. Yes, but you cant call him a racist when he didnt kill them just because they were jewish. Im not saying his reason behind why he did what he did was right or justifiable but yeah.
