South Korea is speeding up their plans for the “Decapitation Unit” which is a unit specialized to take out North Korea’s “wartime Command” including leader Kim Jong Un in case of a war with North Korea. The unit is supposed to be ready by 2019, but since North Korea is planning to test more nuclear weapons the situation is very complicated. South Korea responded to the nuclear threats with Come at us and we’ll cut off the head of the snake.
The United States policy on North Korea has been defined as one of “strategic patience in close consultations with our six party allies.” The new President-elect Trump will most likely continue this policy but nothing is certain.

When was the Korean War?
The Korean war began on June 25, 1950. North Korean troops invaded the 38th parallel, the boundary between the Soviet-backed Democratic People’s Republic of Korea to the north and the pro-Western Republic of Korea to the south.
Who did the US support in this war?
The US entered the war on behalf of South Korea. As far as American officials were concerned, it was a war against the forces of international communism itself. US and the United Nations both assisted South Korea in their battle against North Korea.
Why are they technically still at war?
The fighting ended on 27 July 1953, when an armistice was signed. The agreement created the Korea demilitarized zone to separate North and South Korea, and allowed the return of prisoners. However, no peace treaty has been signed, and the two Korea’s are technically still at war.
What is the biggest concern over North Korea today?
The biggest concern the world has right now is their nuclear program. The U.S and The United Nations has put a lot of sanctions on North Korea since they began building their nuclear weapon program. This has made Kim Jung Un upset and enabled him to start making false threats to the US.
Do you think going to war with North Korea will solve anything or why has the world allowed North Korea to continue to exist?
Right now a war does not look good for either side since innocent people will pay the price. An unstable leader like Kim Jong Un should not be making threats that will end up hurting his country. South Korea always has soldiers ready that work together with US soldiers on training close the 38th parallel just in case anything would happen.
