On Monday November 16th, Presidential Republican candidate Donald Trump ranted in front of 10,000 people about the Paris attacks. He insensitively stated that Friday’s events in Paris were a direct result of the country’s “weak and inefficient” government. Another point he made was that if citizens were strapped with weapons, and if France’s gun laws weren’t so strict, then attacks wouldn’t have happened to the extent that they did. This statement is a stretch; if the citizens happened to be carrying handguns and were up against five or more men with AK-47’s, the outcome may have had less fatalities, but people still would have gotten hurt.
“You hear the term radical Islamic terrorism. He won’t say it. He won’t say it,” (referring to Obama). “I mean you can’t solve a problem if you refuse to talk about what the problem is. And he won’t talk about it. I don’t know what ‘s going on with this man. And you know who else won’t talk about it? Hillary. She won’t talk about it.” -Donald Trump
In the above quote, Trump is indirectly stating that terrorism is mostly linked to the entire religion of Islam. He doesn’t possess the ability to articulate his views efficiently, which is made obvious whenever he gives his speeches. Yes, the terrorist groups’ foundations are built in the Middle East, but saying that the entire Muslim religion is to blame is excessive to say the least.
