Tuesdays with Morrie is a very interesting book with a lesson about life and how to live with a disease that called Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis. Morrie Schwartz was a college professor with this disease and his story is told by his former student, Mitch Albom. The disease makes Morrie’s body numb, so he can not move any part of his body. He had a difficult time with doing any kinds of activities for himself and for his family. He loved to dance and laugh while eating his food. As a professor in college, everyone loved to take classes with him because he was curious, enjoyable, and cared about his students. Most of Morrie’s students came to visit him after they knew that he had the disease which was going to eat his body slowly. The most important student for Morrie was Mitch Albom because he promised Morrie to see him after he graduated from college.
One day, Mitch saw him on the TV that he had a disease called ALS; he was shock to hear about his old professor. He went to see his old professor before he passed away, but he did not have enough time to go. So he couldn’t stop thinking about him, and he went to see him no matter what. When he went there, he changed his life completely. From that time on, he visited Morrie every Tuesday. Morrie told Mitch about his life, and how he spent his time for every day. It was not easy for him to be like that because he used to work hard and be out there all the time.
“Each night, when I go to sleep, I die. And the next morning, when I wake up, I am reborn.”

“The culture we have dose not make people feel good about themselves. And you have to be strong enough to say if the culture doesn’t work, don’t buy it.”

I believe these quotes are very important for all of us who live on the earth because we rarely think about these ideas. For instance, we come home from school and work, and we sleep as a normal people. We think everyday is a new day to start fresh on our lives, but we never think about what would happen to us while we were sleeping. As Morrie said, “Love each other or perish.” That means if you love someone then you would do anything for them, no matter what happens? Also, I like the second quote because it shows that no one can buy love with money. It is very important to value the time that we have in our life and loves.
Also, I am glad that Mitch helped Morrie with his medical bills and how he became like a son to him. I know there are not a lot of people who are willing to support a person in this kind of situation because they know that they would die soon, but Mitch decided to keep up with Morrie every Tuesday. He wanted to give more support to his family about bills ,work, and health for Morrie. As everyone knows, this kind of disease takes a lot of money, and the families have to work hard to pay the bills.
