I’m trying to get a job at GameStop with little to no experience but with expert knowledge. I’m going through all the steps to work at GameStop. I’ve never had a job in my life and I have no idea what to expect, but I know pretty much everything there is to know about gaming. I’ve been playing video games for almost all of my life, and working somewhere that involves gaming has always been a dream of mine.
I know more than the average person about video games. I have plenty of games, from pretty much any genre of game out there. If I am able to work at GameStop i would love my work. I love helping people, and helping people find the right game is even better. As a kid, I was always in and out of GameStop. I’ve played all sorts of games, especially ones my friends would tell me about.
I’ve been going to the Career Center for help on how to find a job. They have a checklist you have to go through before you can find the perfect job. This takes in to consideration where you live, transportation. One way is through networking, like knowing someone who already works there to get you a job. Since I don’t know anyone at GameStop, I won’t be able to check that. Knowing someone at your job is extremely helpful in case you mess up or don’t know what to do in a certain situation. My sister works at Panera, and I’ve been considered working there with her.
Job Fairs are another great way of finding a job. They’ve got everything you need to know about working at a specific store. What you’ll need, what’ll be expected of you. Some even have on site interviews, which is a great way of knowing if you qualify. Age is also looked at a lot during an interview for GameStop, especially if the person is under 18. GameStop sells Mature rated games, so anyone under 18 cannot buy or sell mature rated games. Some jobs will have seasonal services, meaning they hire more employees for holidays that bring in more customers. Christmas is a prime example of when they would need more employees.
