On Friday we had a guest speaker come to our class to talk about Human Trafficking. Mr. Harrington was employed at ICE, (Immigration and Customs Enforcement.) He worked in the Human Trafficking part of the department. Its really cool how we got someone that has actually worked for the Government and has been in real life cases about Human Trafficking. I’m glad i had the opportunity to have someone with personal experience to come to the class and talk bout Human Trafficking. Mr. Harrington stated that ICE was only aware of 20% of the Human Trafficking crimes that were going on. On Wednesday 3-16-2016 it was National Human Trafficking day. before Mr Harrington gave his lecture I had no idea about the widespread human trafficking violations that occur around us every day. it really opened my eyes as to how serious the problem has become.

I was glad that I had the opportunity to hear and learn something more human trafficking. Having the speaker, Mr. Harrington, talk about his own experience about dealing with human trafficking made it more better and understandable.

I really appreciated this guest speaker coming to our class, it was really interesting to hear about this topic and it felt more personalized because he was involved in this topic. I think that human trafficking is a horrible thing and it felt good to now be more aware about this topic.

It was crazy to hear about how often human trafficking is going on, and how it happens all around us with not much we can do if we don’t see it. Its alarming how young children are that are already involved in this.
