As a student of Mountain View, I feel as though we are being held back from the knowledge students at regular schools receive. When I was a student at my base school, I was given homework every night for almost all the classes I had that day. When I came to Mountain View, I was surprised by the little homework given to us students. I’m not saying they don’t give any homework whatsoever, but the homework they do assign is either classwork that wasn’t completed during class or an assignment that can be completed in ten minutes. By not having homework every school day, I feel as though I am not learning the material taught to us fully. Not having homework is equivalent to not studying for a test in my mind.
Many may disagree with me due to fact that the general population of students hate homework. Although it’s time-consuming, it is only given to us to further progress our knowledge. What students have to realize is that homework is just the beginning of what we have to do in the real world. For that, I believe we are not properly prepared for the road ahead of us career wise if we do not fix this issue.
