Like when you get stopped you should know your rights, responsibilities, stopped for questioning, stopped in your car, questioned about your immigration status, if police come to your home, if you are contacted by the FBI, if you are arrested and etc.
Things you should mainly know when you are confronted with an officer is to know your rights. You have many rights and don’t let police abuse them the main ones.
You have the right to remain silent. If you wish to exercise that right, say so out loud.
You have the right to refuse to consent to a search of yourself, your car or your home. If you are not under arrest, you have the right to calmly leave.
The most important things to know when stopped for questioning is stay calm, ask if you are free to leave, importantly you have the right to remain silent, and you don’t have to consent to a search so say “I do not consent to this search”. I had a friend in a situtaion that she got arrested and the police officer didn’t read her merandon rights to her, now she thinks that the charges can just be dropped. I dont know if that’s true of not. We need to know our rights, thankfully she didnt say anything after they arrested her.
