Stand Up to the Trump Effect on the Environment
The Trump administration has been shocking in regard to the environment. The Trump administration shows little to no interest when it comes to protecting the environment from selfish business interests. He seems to be more interested in short term deals for business than the long term deal of investing in a healthier planet. It seems that almost everything the Obama administration created to protect the climate has been directly challenged by the Trump administration.
The article by National Geographic titled “A Running List of How Trump is changing the Environment” stated so far all of what Trump has done involving climate change. It describes all the changes Donald Trump and his cabinet have made to the environmental policy. The reason they have made these changes is due to Donald Trump himself not believing that climate change is a real issue and because the Trump Administration believes that the environmental policies are just holding back the United States economy. While it may be true that environmental policies hold back the United States economy this is to ensure a better tomorrow for the whole world. So far the Trump Staff has made the United States leave the Paris Agreement, a global agreement to reduce water pollution and climate change, and repealed the Stream protection rule which forbids coal mining companies from dumping coal and debris into clean water streams. And most recently the Trump Administration planned on repealing the clean power plan. By what we have witnessed the Trump Administration has little care for the environment which is not a good sign.
However, we have the power to change things, if we call our congressmen and let them know we don’t like how we are treating environmental policies we can possibly prevent any more being repealed and reinstate old ones. Another thing we can do is to not vote for Trump during re-elections if his administration continues to take advantage of the environment, taking care of climate change is more important than making a quick buck.

I think Trump administration should think more about how to keep the environment clean than those business that create more pollution to our planet.

I agree, We should take care of our environment and should keep it a clean place. Recycling and using less gas or flying less helps dramatically. We can also find other energy sources like water.. All these small changes can make a big impact if we all start making a change.

We need to act on climate change now. Stephen Hawking has predicted recently that Earth doesn’t have much time any longer; if we continue to overpopulate the world, make more factories, cars, etc. the world will only have until around 2600 to exist. Not only can we change Trump’s perception on climate change, but we can all do little things in our own environments and homes around the globe to make a difference — and every person counts.
We can be:
1. Energy efficient; change light bulbs into compact fluorescents or LEDs, unplug computers, TVs, or other electronics when not in use, and wash clothes in cold or warm (not hot) water.
2. Eat wisely; buy organic or locally grown foods, and avoid processed items. You can also grow your own food.
3. Recycle paper, plastic, metal, and glass.
4. Fly less; air travel leaves a huge carbon footprint.
5. Green your commute; transportation leaves a huge carbon footprint as well. It’s helpful to walk, cycle, or take transit whenever you can.
