Keyshaun Mason a brave freshman from Potomac Highschool and his brother were left with no choice but to intervene in a fight with their mother and her boyfriend Sean Crawford. After asking Crawford to leave their home, he stabbed Keyshaun in the chest, also stabbing his older brother in the shoulder.
The argument started Monday night October 19th and led into Tuesday morning October 20th, which is when Keyshaun got stabbed. No one in the family thought that argument would lead to any of this. Once police got to the home, they arrested Sean Crawford, and he is being charged with First degree murder and attempted murder.
Many of Keyshaun’s friends called him “Sway”. There has been nothing but support on social media, from Sway’s classmates and friends. A candlelight vigil was planned for him on Friday evening October 23 .
His mother said ” He was a popular student who loved his family”.
I think its very tragic what happened to Keyshaun (Sway). He seemed like a great kid, also seemed to be loved by many.I think its great how his friends and classmates brought attention to this, by using social media. Its nice to see kids my age using social media for something good other than creating drama or bullying others. Standing up to injustice can be hard to do. Social media is one way we can encourage one another.

I think it is so tragic that people can get so worked up that they have to be physically abusive. This was such a courageous act that the son made.
