This is such a great article. I love art and preforming as well and I recently lost a family member too. I know exactly what it is like to go and preform after they are gone. I worry also about my family agreeing with my choices to be on stage. Its hard, but in the end it is always worth it.

Since I’m very into philosophy and art, I love hearing about the Harlem Renaissance. Even though the art and culture was the most important part of it all, what they went through must’ve been really hard. The fact that they continued on with what they were inspired to do, inspires me as well to continue with the love I have for art and philosophy but still always worry about how my family feels. Also, even in the hard times when you think about what is most important to you you can focus on your commitment to make good change happen.
